Over 2 performances of 90 minutes each, Sydney MicroFest 2 present a diverse range of wonderful musicians. Clocks and Clouds http://anaphoria.com/clocksclouds.html will fill the ambient space with wondrous cascades of pitch and texture from their new work Anaphorian Shadow Theatre Music Jack Tickner https://www.facebook.com/JackETickner/ will delight with his microtonal guitar and singing, Greg Schiemer's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Schiemer Satellite Gamelan will be a treat with audience participation using a new mobile phone app as the sound source. Donald Bousted's https://donaldbousted.com new work to observe sea and sky is for flute in standard tuning and horn in 19 equal divisions of the octave, Michael H Dixon having acquired an instrument to achieve this clearly. Terumi Narushima https://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/3d-printing-creates-a-flute-which-makes-beautiful-sounds-20150605-ghhd68.html has written a new quartet titled Sundew to be performed by LOCANA (Janine Grantham - flute, Rachel Westwood - violin, Michael H Dixon - horn, Matthew Farrell - cello). LOCANA will also perform the beautiful Toivo by Juhani Nuorvala https://core.musicfinland.fi/composers/juhani-nuorvala  Greg van der Struik - trombone, will perform stillness of unceasing activity by Michael and join him and Ed Diefes - tuba in the trio Chaconne by Ron Nagorcka. Wendy Dixon will join these six musicians for the aria The Wound, a commentary on the need for healing between Indigenous people and the 'immigrants' post 1770.
